Morning and Afternoon Options
The Barstow School Extended Care Program is an extension of the regular school day. The program provides students with a balance of learning and fun, and fosters the same community atmosphere students enjoy in their classrooms. Students in preschool through eighth grade participate in activities including homework, arts and crafts and outdoor activities.
Some activities are currently restricted in accordance with campus health and safety protocols, and during the 2020-2021 school year, upper school students on campus before or after regular school hours will also attend extended day programs. Extended Care services are open to any student in preschool through grade 12 on a drop-in basis, or they may be enrolled through an Extended Care contract.Extended Care services are open to any student in preschool through grade 12. Morning Extended Care
- Monday-Friday, 7-7:45 a.m. for early childhood and lower school.
- Monday-Friday, 7-8:30 a.m. for middle & upper school.
Morning Extended Care students report to the Brookfield Gym after completing a temperature screening and check-in at the front entrance to the school.
Afternoon Extended Care
- Monday-Friday, 3-6 p.m. for early childhood and lower school in Price Hall and North and South Pods.
- Monday-Friday, 4-6 p.m. for middle and upper school in the auditorium. All student in grades 6-12 must be in the auditorium if they are on campus after 4:15 p.m.
Extended Care for middle and upper school students is provided for $15 per day.
Full Day Care
The Extended Care program helps families with their child care needs during times when The Barstow School is closed for holidays and in-service professional development. When possible, full day care is offered from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Students in preschool-grade 5 grade participate in games, arts and crafts, outdoor play, movies, and enrichment.
