The Barstow School is a nonprofit corporation overseen by a board of trustees — alumni, parents of current or former students, and supporters from the Kansas City community. Members appoint heads of school, preside over campus acquisitions and improvements, set investment guidelines for financial resources and uphold Barstow's mission.

  • Chair

    2026–2027 Chair Greg Graves is the former President, CEO and Chairman of global engineering, architecture and construction firm Burns and McDonnell. He began his service on the Board of Trustees in 2018.
    Greg has been an active board member, particularly on the Building & Grounds Committee that managed major campus construction projects including the addition of Knights Drive and Foster Athletic Center, and renovation of the Graves Family Baseball Stadium.

    Greg is the Lead Independent Director of UMB Financial, one of America’s largest of most successful regional banks. He is also Vice Chair of the University of Kansas Health System Board of Directors and the author of Amazon best selling book “Create Amazing: Turning Employees into Owners for Explosive Growth.” Along with his wife, Deanna, Greg leads the work of the Graves Family Foundation. They are the proud grandparents of seven Barstow students.
