Members of the Barstow faculty and staff are part of a community that values innovative learning, collaboration and communication. Barstow offers educators an independent and collegiate atmosphere in which to teach and grow professionally as a member of a dedicated group of learners.   • Extended Care Employee

    The Barstow School's before and after school program, Extended Care, is currently looking for high-energy employees for the 2018-2019 school year. If you are an education major, or if you have experience working with children, then you may qualify for an interview. Extended Care if offered from 7:00 - 8:00 am and 2:45 - 6:00 pm and provides care to students preschool through eighth grade. This is a great way for college students to gain experience and make connections for future employment. Employees can expect to work 10 - 18 hours a week with the opportunity for flexible scheduling.   • School Counselor

     
    The Barstow School is seeking to hire a School Counselor to provide a full range of counseling services to students grades PS-12. The qualified candidate will:
     
    • Work with students to attain an optimum level of personal and social adjustment within the classroom and individually.
    • Provide individual counseling and group sessions to help students cope effectively with personal, social, academic, and family concerns.
    • Identify students with special needs and make appropriate recommendations and referrals.
    • Implement an effective referral and follow-up process.
    • Work with grade level deans, and Middle and Lower School teachers to organize and implement grade advisee programs.
    • Coordinate the Services for Students with Disabilities for the College Board (AP, PSAT, SAT) and ACT tests.
