College Counseling

The college planning process is an integral part of the Barstow experience. It incorporates exploration, selection, application and transition to college life. Our personalized program, built on relationships with students and parents, yields impressive results. Up to 85% of Barstow seniors are accepted to their first or second choice school.

During a four year planning timeline, the counseling staff maintains frequent contact with each student to learn their strengths and interests. They assist students with course selection and test preparation, and are always available to answer parents' questions. Together they build a well-balanced list of college options that take academic, social and financial fit into consideration.
