The Barstow Lady Knights tennis team finished off a sensational week of tennis by making some tennis history with it's first ever Blue Springs Double Championship.  With four flights of doubles teams the Knights flashed some depth with huge wins with the middle of the lineup and solid play up top.
In A doubles Seniors Hannah Tadros and Helene Bergere faced a very tough first round draw from the always tough Jefferson City Jays.  Jeff City jumped on the Knights early getting off to a 2-6 lead.  But Hannah and Helene fought back with three games in a row to make it a race and finished with a 10-8 win to move into the semifinals.  In the semis, he girls faced another tough team, Lee's Summit and rolled to a 10-3 win.  They  lost to Blue Springs in the finals, but captured some valuable team points with second place.
In B doubles, Lauren Shore and Hope Leathers rolled to a decisive win vs. Lee's Summit North, 10-0 and then beat a a tough Lee's Summit team, 10-4.  Facing the tournament's toughest competition for the team championship, Blue Springs, Lauren and Hope after down 5-6, pulled away for 10-7 win.
in probably the most significant bracket of Friday, Arwa Rawjni and Mia Sabapathy put an early dent on Blue Springs team opportunity by beating them 10-3 in the first round.  They moved on to whip Grain Valley 10-4 in the semis and likely sealed the TEAM win with a 10-4 victory in the finals to claim the C bracket championship.  With four first place medalists and two second place medals the girls won the team totals easily.  Congratulations ladies on just an amazing week of tennis.......a HUGE win against KCC and two tourney wins in the same week.
