Second Driveway Campaign Launched

The Barstow School launched Driving Forward, the campaign for a second driveway, during the Green & White Gala on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Barstow currently has a single access point to campus from State Line Road. The construction of a second driveway from State Line that provides continuous traffic flow with multiple drop-off and pick-up points on campus is imperative as the school and surrounding area grow.

The driveway will be located south of the existing entrance and north of the baseball field, leading into a traffic circle in front of the middle school doors. The second drive will merge into the parking lot near the tennis courts and connect to the existing drive to the early childhood entrance.

The project will cost $2 million. The school will give $800,000, with the remaining $1.2 million coming from philanthropic gifts. All donations to The Barstow Fund during 2022-2023 will support Driving Forward, including nearly $300,000 received since July 1.

Construction will begin when Barstow has raised 80% of the fundraising goal. The drive will take about four months to complete. The second driveway will tie together several major campus improvements and additions, including the new turf soccer field, a new athletic building and a renovated baseball field and facilities.
