#BarstowProud of our Student-Athlete Alumni

Barstow has been fortunate to have many talented student-athletes graduate and continue their playing careers in college. Recently, Jacob Gilyard '17, Jill Gillen '19 and Brylee and Jaelyn Glenn '21 set national records and received conference accolades for their performances on the court.
Jacob Gilyard '17 is a key figure on the University of Richmond basketball team. He has set numerous records for the program and became the NCAA Division 1 all-time steals leader on Sunday, Dec. 5 against the University of Northern Iowa. The steal was Gilyard's 386 of his career and broke a 19-year-old record that was previously held by Providence's John Linehan. Jacob was also nominated for the 2021-2022 Men's Senior CLASS Award. This award recognizes 30 candidates who excel in community, classroom and competition. Gilyard is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resources Management at Richmond after receiving his Bachelor's degree in Rhetoric & Communication Studies.

Jill Gillen '19 has been a top Southeastern Conference (SEC) volleyball player during her three years at the University of Arkansas. She became the 17 Razorback to reach 1,000 career kills and she currently ranks second in program history for total kills. Jill lead the SEC in total kills for the season with 444 and registered career highs in attempts, hitting percentage, solo blocks, block assists and total blocks. Recently, Jill was named to the All-SEC Team, SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and AVCA South All-Region Team for the second season in a row.

Brylee and Jaelyn Glenn '21 have fit right into the Kansas State basketball program. They have featured in every pre-season and NCAA game so far this year. Both players have been instrumental to the team's success and have contributed offensively and defensively. Recently, Brylee earned her first Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor for helping the Wildcats extend their home winning streak to seven games. Brylee reached double figures against the top team in the nation, South Carolina.
