Freshman Tyler McNeive Heads to State

On Monday, May 17 freshman Tyler McNeive will step onto the plush green grass at Crown Pointe Golf Course in Farmington, MO and take his first swing in the MSHSAA Golf Championship.  Tyler earned a spot in the state competition after placing 6th overall in the Class 3, District 4 Championship last week.  Tyler's 6th place finish was impressive considering that there were dozens of players from 16 schools across the northwest portion of Missouri competing for a chance to make the cut.  This season Tyler twice finished first against Pembroke Hill in two separate duals and also took the top spot against conference rival Summit Christian Academy.  In the Crossroads Conference Championship Tyler finished with All-Conference honors by placing third overall.  When Tyler hits the course next Monday he will become the first Barstow freshman in recent years to play in the event as a true state qualifier and not simply a team qualifying participant.  The entire Barstow Community wishes Tyler and Coach Joe Taylor the best of luck next week at the Missouri State Golf Championships.
