KNIGHTS TENNIS DEFEATS SHAWNEE MISSION EAST

The Lady Knights took on Shawnee Mission East on Wednesday and won the match 6-3.  The match was closer than the score shows.  

In doubles, the Knights swept all three doubles matches.  At #1, Sarena Biria and Mia Sabapathy rolled to an 8-1 win and at #2 Hope Leathers and Mary Colombo fought to an 8-6 victory.  In a true adventure at #3 doubles, Divya Dendi and Aishi Sethi snoozed to a -0-6 deficit before roaring back to catch their opponent, push it to a tiebreaker and win the match 8-7 (11-9).  

 

Leading 3-0 the match turned to singles.  Sarena Biria rolled easily at #1, 8-0.  But East won the next three singles matches at #2, #3 and #4 leaving the outcome in the hands of the lower end of the line up.  Both girls came through.  Divya Dendi won the fifth and deciding team point with a 6-2 win and Aishi Sethi put the cherry on top with a 7-6 (7-5) win.  

 

The girls play their final regular season match at Lee’s Summit North on Friday.
