KNIGHTS WIN IMPORTANT CONFERENCE GAME AGAINST KANSAS STATE CHAMP
The Barstow boys tennis team picked up likely the decisive win in their CROSSROADS CONFERENCE schedule and against the 2018/19 Kansas 3 State Champs, Kansas City Christian, 7-2. They began by sweeping the doubles matches. At #1 doubles Richey King and Sunil Reiland beat an undefeated #1 KCC doubles team, 9-7. At #2 doubles, Sam Colombo and Matthew Justis did the same winning 8-4 and seniors Jordan Herwig and Saketh Dendi dominated at 8-1.
In singles, Sam Colombo at #3 picked up an easy 8-1 win and Jordan Herwig and Matthew Justis both dominated at 8-2. In the singles match of the day freshman Richey King used composure and a solid ground game to rally from a 2-6 deficit and beat a previously unbeaten #1 from KCC, 9-7. The boys played their best tennis of the season and take this momentum to the Park Hill doubles tournament tomorrow.
