KNIGHTS CONTINUE SOLID PLAY

The boys tennis team played their third match of the new season against last year state finalist, Pembroke Hill.  After two convincing wins in four days, 8-1 win over St. Michael’s followed by a 7-2 victory over Blue Valley, the Knights dropped a tough one Tuesday to Pembroke.  In doubles at #1 Freshman Richey King and sophomore Sunil Reiland overhwhelmed the Raiders at the net, jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never let up, finishing off their opponents, 8-0.  At 2 doubles sophomore Sam Colombo and Senior Saketh Dendi stayed close in the early games but lost 4-8.   And at. #3 doubles senior Jordan Herwig and sophomore Matthew Justis took the lead early until dropping the set,  6-8.
In singles, at #1 Richey King dominated with a  6-0, 6-0 win and at #2 Sunil Reiland did the same at 6-0, 6-1.  Sam Colombo played well at 3, especially in the first set before losing 6-4, 6-0.  Saketh Dendi lost but played well, losing  6-1, 6-2.  At 5,Jordan Herwig played some solid tennis, but lost 1-8, and finally at #6, Matthew Justis started out strong with an early lead but lost 4-8.
The Knights continue on their loaded schedule to travel to Columbia, MO on Friday to take on some of the best large class school in two states that involves multiple 2018 state champions in the Mid MO Classic.
