KNIGHTS STAY ON A ROLL

The Barstow Knights tennis team moved to 2-0 with a solid win against a good Blue Valley Tigers squad. The boys opened with a strong round of doubles. At #1 doubles Riches King and Sunil Reiland rolled to an 8-0 win behind strong first serves and a solid net game.  At #2 Sam Colombo and Saketh Dendi played a solid pair and fought back from a 5-6 deficit, to squeeze out a 9-7 win.  Our #3 doubles team of Matthew Justis and Jordan Herwig used strong first serves and solid returns to roll to an 8-3 win for our second point of afternoon.
After this solid doubles start, at #1 Rickey King played some outstanding singles to roll to an 8-0 win and Sunil Reiland did the same at #2 singles, 8-0 to lock up the team victory.  At #3 singles, Sam Colombo played hard but couldn’t get over the hump, losing 5-8 and Jordan Herwig played well at #4, but dropped his set at 6-8.
Finishing off the evening, Matthew Justis picked up the win in his first singles of the new season and rolled to an 8-0 victory while at #4 singles, Saketh Dendi played some solid singles to win 8-3.  This was a good win for the Knights against a good Blue Valley squad.   The boys line up against Pembroke Hill tomorrow night with the varsity here and the JV at Pembroke.
