Members of Sources of Strength, Barstow’s peer-to-peer student support group, spread messages of belonging and community this week.
Middle and upper school members passed out purple ribbons on Monday in recognition of National Suicide Prevention Week. They also brought upper school students and faculty together for a spirited outdoor volleyball game and welcomed a trained therapy dog to campus. With help from faculty advisors, Sources of Strength also decorated the bulletin board leading to upper school with the 988 Crisis Line, and the opportunity for students to “leave a message” expressing activities that boost their positive mental health.
