National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists Announced
Three students have have been named 2026 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, placing them academically in the top 1% of U.S. high school seniors.
Sanjana Akkulugari, Sam Golladay and Carlos Salazar are this year's semifinalists. These academically talented students are among the 16,000 semifinalists announced by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) this week.
The National Merit® Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Semifinalists have the opportunity to continue the competition for some 6,930 scholarships worth nearly $26 million offered next spring.
