Dr. Niermann brings three decades of education experience and leadership to Barstow.
Dr. Niermann brings three decades of education experience and leadership to Barstow.
He began his teaching career in 1990 and holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in history, as well as a master’s degree in school leadership. In the classroom, he taught nearly every social studies-related subject at rural, urban, public and private high schools and colleges. He has also served as a department chair and building administrator.
Dr. Niermann joined the Barstow administration in 2019 and helped oversee the school’s transition to fully online classes during the spring 2020, as well as health and safety procedures and building enhancements that preceded our return to campus.
