The Barstow School is committed to building and sustaining a school community that highly values inclusion and diversity, embraces cultural awareness, supports racial equity and justice, and promotes equal opportunities for all.
Our Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (ID+E) Committee is charged with examining all aspects of school culture to ensure that our mission and values are applied equally to every student, family, faculty and staff member.
During the summer of 2020, members of the expanded Barstow Diversity Committee began examining practices including, but not limited, to admission and employment practices, curriculum and outreach. The committee made recommendations to the administration and Board of Trustees and assisted with the implementation of sustainable practices that promote positive change.

Director of Campus Operations Liz Bartow leads the committee. In addition to teaching experience in all three school divisions, Ms. Bartow has directed the service-learning program and served as Director of Admission and Director of Upper and Middle Schools. -

Hundreds Volunteer on MLK, Jr. Day
More than 200 students, parents and faculty and staff members spent part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday at Barstow in service to others. -
Robotics Team Adapts Cars for New Drivers
Barstow robotics students hosted a GoBabyGo! community build on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Dan & Cassidy Towriss IDEA Space. FRC Team 1939 and robotics teams from five area schools adapted battery-operated cars for children with mobility challenges. -
Service Project Adds Fun to Festival
Students and families are invited to a community service project after school onf Friday, Feb. 2, to help us prepare for the Barstow Cultural Enrichment Festival.
