Lower School Teaching Associate
The Barstow School is seeking a certified Teaching Associate for the 2023-2024 school year who provides an additional presence in one of our early childhood classrooms. Teaching Associates assist the lead teacher with the supervision of students, lead large and small group lessons and activities, as well as work with individual students.
Exemplary teachers are Barstow’s greatest asset. Candidates must exhibit pride in their profession and competency in their subject matter. In all aspects of life, candidates must be conscious of their position as role models for students.
Successful candidates will combine a caring and understanding attitude with consistency, fairness, and creativity. Ever conscious of the child’s self-esteem, they should be generous with praise and demonstrate an awareness of the developmental stages of their students, thus fostering mutual respect. Successful candidates must be skilled at working collaboratively with and taking direction from a lead teacher.
