Most families start by attending an Open House, then scheduling a Tour and conclude by arranging a Student Visit Day. While this is Barstow’s suggested visit sequence, we welcome your Family Tour requests at any time. |
| Open House Barstow Open Houses are one-stop overviews of everything Barstow has to offer. During your Open House visit, you’ll get to meet Barstow faculty, take a campus tour, see examples of student learning experiences, learn about the academic, artistic and athletic offerings in each division, and speak with current students, parents, faculty, Division Heads and Admission Office staff. Open Houses are a great introduction to the Barstow Community. Students and parents are both welcome at Open Houses. |

School ToursTours are your opportunity to sit down with Admission staff and get all of your questions answered. Tours include a personal appointment with a member of the Admission staff and a complete, personalized school tour. The combined Admission appointment and tour typically lasts about an hour and occur on a weekday. Tours are typically scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, when classes are in session and throughout the summer.

Visit DaysVisit Days are open to any student who has submitted an application to Barstow. Visit Days offer a more personalized look at the day-to-day experience at Barstow. Visiting students are paired with a Barstow student in the same grade. Visit Days are typically on the third Thursday of each month, but special requests can be accommodated.
• Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten applicants are required to attend the Round-Up days.
• Students in Kindergarten through 11th grade will spend the day shadowing a current Barstow student, following his/her schedule.
o Students through the 8th grade will participate in the physical education program, so wear the appropriate
shoes.
o Lunch is complimentary; please advise us of food allergies.
• For Upper School students, an interview with the Division Head and/or Director of Admission is required. |

Students seeking admission to Preschool-Grade 3 will complete evaluations during their visit day. Students in grades four through 11 are required to attend a Saturday testing session. Testing lasts approximately two hours. Applicants will be tested for aptitude and skill levels in reading comprehension, math practical reasoning and will be asked to complete a short writing sample. Students must have a completed application on file to participate in a testing date.
All applicant testing days are scheduled on the following Saturdays. Testing begins at 9:00 a.m. All testing students will need to have an application on file prior to testing day.

Early Childhood Round Ups Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten applicants will participate in a one-hour classroom visit during Round Up days between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. There will be an informational program for parents while children participate in their classroom activities. Please schedule your Round Up appointment with the Office of Admission at 816.277.0306. All Round Up participants will need to have an application on file prior to these events.
