Driveway Dig Begins

The new access point from State Line Road leading to the middle school entrance on the school’s south side will improve the daily dropoff and pickup process for Barstow students, families and campus visitors, and will reduce traffic congestion. 

Barstow launched Driving Forward, the campaign for a second driveway, at the Green & White Gala on October 8, 2022, with an initial goal of raising $2 million dollars for a 1,250 foot two-lane drive. A generous dollar-for-dollar gift from an anonymous donor accelerated giving from our community, and the campaign topped off the tank at $2.3 million on June 30 — a record amount raised in record time. 

Driving Forward continued the momentum of campus improvements made during the last two years, including a newly turfed soccer field and renovated Graves Family Baseball Stadium. The driveway groundbreaking also marked the start of construction of a $3.5 million athletic building and two parking lots with more than 100 additional spaces. The driveway is expected to open during the second semester of the current school year.
